Tip of the Week! – Community Serve Day

This is a simple and effective way to get your Church involved in your community. The idea is to choose three or four projects around your community and choose a Saturday to have members of your Church complete these projects together. This not only lets your community know you are here to serve, but also brings your members closer together by being the hands and feet of Christ in their town and neighborhoods. Jesus calls us to serve the less fortunate in Matthew 25 and says that “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Some ideas are: a blood drive, city park clean up, painting the home of a shut in, handy man work at a local retirement community, collecting food for your local food bank. All simple projects that will make a difference.

Sharefaith has some great images and clip art for you to promote your Community Serve Day through your newsletters, bulletins and on your announcement screens.

Is Your Church On Twitter?

There are nearly 20 million people using the online social network called Twitter. You can’t pick up a newspaper or magazine, go online or watch television without hearing about how people are flocking to Twitter these days. It’s likely that members of your church or ministry are using this technology or soon will. While it’s early in the process to see what real value comes from using Twitter, you can use it to connect with your community today. Post updates about upcoming events at your Church, changes in times and services, prayer requests and links to your Church website. Being where people are congregating to spread the gospel is fulfilling the great commission – even online!

Sharefaith has graphics and clip art that you can use on all your online efforts. We even have some free Twitter backgrounds for you to try out when you set your account up. Check them out today at: Free Christian Twitter Backgrounds

Welcome Bags the Speak Volumes

If you give guest attendees a welcome bag, does it say what you want it to about your Church? Include in your welcome bag a good quality brochure about your Church, a good pen for taking notes and filling out information, a nice response card that can be given to an usher or put in an offering plate and a welcome note or perhaps even a welcome video on DVD from the Pastor. Tie these items in with the graphics on your PowerPoint welcome slide. Using beautiful and welcoming Christian clipart and presentation graphics from ShareFaith will give your guests the message that you’re glad they came to share in the fellowship of Christ at your Church.
