Just Released! New Patriotic Church Video for the Fourth of July!

We’ve just released our newest church video. This brief video presents an inspiring reminder of the liberties that we enjoy as Americans—life, liberty, and justice. We are reminded that freedom is not free, that our land was built on the sacrifice of many, and that—regardless of the leaders, politics, or opposition by unbelievers—God is the ultimate ruler.

If you sit down and really think about it, there’s a whole lot about “church” that’s not biblical. At all. I’m not saying it’s wrong. I’m just saying it’s not in the Bible. When you get right down to it, much of our contemporary Christianity is running on the fuel of tradition. I’m going to suggest that some of these “traditions” are no longer useful. We’re running on fumes. So, at the risk of being labelled as an iconoclast, skeptic, heretic, dissident, rebel, renegade, and mutineer, I’m going to suggest that we rethink a couple things. To be blunt, I’m going to suggest that we slaughter some sacred cows.

I once visited a church that had around 9,801 different activities. Somewhere around that number. There was even a special program for men whose hobby was smoking meat. I think they were called the Holy Smokers. I’m not totally against church activities and programs. Thanks to some great kids clubs back in the day, I’ve memorized more Bible verses than I would have otherwise. Even though activities can do some good, they can also do some bad—totally without your suspecting it. I call it “death by church activities.” Let me explain.

The Book of Mormon musical has shot to the top of the charts, raking in Tony Awards, selling out at Broadway, and stirring controversy just about everywhere. Thought up by the irreverent South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, The Book of Mormon is a Broadway production that pokes fun at Mormons, ridicules God, and blasphemes Jesus. And it’s pure entertainment, or so it’s supposed to be.

In this day and age, with human thinking so well trained with the practices and logicality of modern-day science, many are taking an apologetic approach to evangelism to combat the mindset of this generation and bring forward an intelligent case for Christianity. This is a wonderful thing, since it not only helps us reach the lost, but it builds our own faith in the process, helping us to see evidence outside of the Bible that confirms our beliefs. However, can all this talk of science and theories in Christianity also present inner turmoil for Christians and the core message of the gospel? As a Christian, you may hear about “surrender” and “obedience” on a constant basis. Yet we constantly struggle with these issues, don’t we? Our sinful nature seems to always throw a red flag in front of our faces whenever we are told to do something. We want to be in charge and hold the reigns. Many have fooled themselves into thinking that they actually do. Where do we draw the line with our relationship with God and say it’s okay for Him to have control of this aspect of our lives, but not this aspect?
